GOOD PROBLEM
A friend once asked me how I get the inspiration to write and I told him by talking to him. I sensed his disappointment. What he expected me to say was that the inspiration is divine but I meant what I said, sincerely.
Sometimes, we forget that the divine inspiration we get is usually in the spiritual. God does not get involved in the execution of the inspiration he gifts us in the spiritual if we fail to manifest it in the physical.
So, I launched my new book on the 27th of November 2024. I took a useful lesson that I would like to share. Less than 30 minutes into the programme, I became apprehensive that we might run out of seats for invited guests who kept coming as the hall was almost filled up.
Naturally, I expressed some worries aloud to my chief co-planner, Adekunle Abon. Unperturbed, Ade simply said without looking at me that it is a good problem. Little did he know he just gave me a topic for an article.
He asked me, which is better? To have a hall ‘thirsting’ for the arrival of invited guests when the event should have started or to have a hall filled to capacity soon after the event has started? Hmmm, I retreated to reflection mode.
Until then, it didn’t occur to me that some problems are good problems. The overflowing attendance at my book launch was a good problem I had started racking my brain about until Ade calmed me down with his philosophical question.
If you indulge me, I will ask you to take a moment to reflect. Some of the problems you worry about might actually be good problems that are not worth your worries, if only you try to understand their true nature.
In the meantime, let me say a massive thank you to all who contributed in no small measure to the success of my book launch. Both on-site and online, I value your time and I cherish your presence.
I will be right back with my full dose of appreciation.
