In a matter of hours, 2024 will become history. Good or not too good, whatever pill the outgoing year has served you, congratulations is in order.
For all the goals you set and scored, give yourself some nods, you are deserving of it. Even for what you call small successes, pat yourself on the back.
For the misses and near misses, you are only human. Pick yourself up, take your lessons and try again. There is no single pathway to success.
Maybe you have suffered some losses, human and/or material. I have. Odd as it sounds, life is not compete without those vicissitudes. Life must go on.
2024 was a defining year for all strata of the society. Those who had no plans were forced to plan. The ones with plans were made to replan.
As 2025 beckons, this will sound like an admonition but please, indulge me. Sometimes, what gives you joy will be in conflict with what gives you money.
It is tricky because you need money to do many things but don’t relegate what gives you joy to what gives you money.
You would have to strike a balance between the two. My teacher taught me to tie my goal to what gives me joy. It sounds practicable.
Money can buy you momentary happiness but not joy. “The fortune you seek to put a smile on your face should not take your smile away.”
